Nolan visits Stephen Bennett in his Donegal Studio Gallery
In
July 2008 John Nolan was given a tour of Stephen Bennett's Studio Gallery in Adara,
Co. Donegal. John has been a fan of Stephen's work for many years. Both artists
have the same love for colour. Stephen interprets both the Donegal landscape and
its people, through his unique use of colour and expressive brushwork. Stephen
is a creative artist, devoted to his craft. He is established as an exhibitor
in galleries throughout Ireland and his paintings are now included in private
collections worldwide.
|
Visitors
are welcome to drop in to see the work in the Studio Gallery, but it is wise to
phone for an appointment, if you want to be sure of finding Stephen at home. The
gallery houses Stephen's latest work as well as a selection of prints and limited
editions, definitely worth a visit for any discerning art buyer. For

Calendar
2008 - Paying Homage
| John
Nolan has explored over the years many themes through his contemporary style and
at present is working on a series of paintings paying homage to great masters. |
|
For
more info contact: john@nolanart.com |
He incorporates into his own work, images and references from paintings by Van
Gogh, Modigliani, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Matisse and Picasso. This series contrasts
John's motifs with many of the great icons of art history. He makes elegantly
economical use of simple motifs which are explored in clever compositions.Twelve
pieces from this series of work are illustrated in the 2008 Calendar. Each piece
is accompanied by brief explanatory notes that discuss the nature of the paintings. |
